Family Camp 2007

Today the boys and I are leaving for our last week of Family Camp with our friends from East Michigan and CWC. Unfortunately Ed and Bri cannot be with us this year but they will be in our hearts!! It will not be the same without them!!!

As I was packing up last night for this week of camping I couldn't help but wonder why I do this every year!! I truly think that it would be much cheaper just to go away on a cruise for the week and not have to worry about cold showers in the mornings, sand in your bed and oh!! those darn mosquitos. But then I thought, it just wouldn't be the same without all of your friends with you and the great fellowship around the fires at night! I will truly miss them. Maybe we can start our own "Family Camp" in our new district? or in our new church?

Our moving date is scheduled for July 18th. I hope and pray that these days will go by quickly so we can all be together as a family again. This separation is not easy, but GOD IS ABLE!!! He is continually making my days go by quicker as we wait to move.

Our home still has not sold and time is running out. Please continue to pray that it will sell before we leave!! GOD IS ABLE!!

Well, better go and get ready to leave for camp before Peter gets up. He is very anxious to get up there to be with his friends!!

I will talk to u all when I get back from camp!!!

It's Official

We are now officially installed into Faith Chapel Wesleyan Church in Annandale, NJ!! We had our installation service on June 17th, Fathers Day. What a wonderful service we had with Dr. Wood and his sweet wife Alice!! Our family and friends joined us for this special day.

Ed and Peter got to play country on Saturday at our first country picnic at FCW. This was a culture shock for both of them, since they never played country before. It wasn't to painful for them! We all had a wonderful time with lots of good food and fellowship. Matthew sat with the baby goats all day and even wanted to take one home with him!! I don't think so!! He can't wait to go back to NJ and visit them on Marsha's farm.

Well, we did get to see our new home while we were there and it is just perfect!! God truly blessed us. It is so quiet outside just the way I like it. Peter just loves his new room and is looking forward to fixing it up. The closing should be 7/12 and we should move by July 18th for good! It seems so far away since Ed and Brianna are in PA at my mom's till we can all be together. The boys and I are here in Michigan packing up the rest of the house till Ed gets here when we move.

Peter, Matt and I will be off to our last family camp July 1-8 and look forward to it! Hopefully this will make the time go alittle faster for us.

Please continue to pray for us during this transition and for the sale of our home here!!

Talk to u soon,
Doreen

Our last day at CWC!!

Sorry I have not kept up with the blog, we have been quite busy here lately. Sunday was our last Sunday at CWC!! It was a blast to say the least. The junior and senior high did all the worship and we rocked the house. It was graduation Sunday and we celebrated with those who graduated this year.

Ed did his final sermon Sunday and it was a bit emotional but such a blessing to all!! We were so blessed by our church family and will miss each and every one of them very much. We look forward to what God has for us in NJ as a family but our hearts hurt as we leave the friends and family of CWC who we have grown to love over the past 5 years here!!

Ed and Peter made it to PA yesterday and Brianna, Matt and I will fly out tomorrow for 6 days. We are being installed this Sunday with Dr. Wood, our old DS from Penn Jersey!! We love you Dr. Wood!!

Please continue to remember us in your prayers as we make this huge transition in our lives. Moving is tough enough, but when you are moving out of state, it is even harder!! Especially on the kids!! God is able!! We continue to lean on HIM!!!

I will try to update as soon as I can. Talk to you soon.

Detroit Zoo!!

Yesterday was Matthew's field trip to the Detroit Zoo!! What a blast we had!! About 100 first graders and 50 or so parents. The parents had to drive their own cars there, so I drove with 2 friends of mine. Casey got to borrow her brothers Trans Am convertible and we drove in style all the way to the zoo!! Thanks Casey, I had a blast!!!

Matthew enjoyed the day and was very tired on the way home. The last time we were there was when we first came to Michigan 5 years ago, he was only 2 1/2 years old so he did not remember anything. It was a good way to end our time in Michigan!!!

Today we are celebrating Peter's 15th birthday with about 25 teens for a pool party!! Hopefully the thunderstorms hold off!! Happy Birthday Peter, we love you.
